ChairCheck SMS Opt-In & Consent Flow

Public reference page showing exactly how end users opt in to text messages from ChairCheck. No login required.

Brand: ChairCheck (https://getchaircheck.com, also https://chaircheck1.site), a barbershop appointment booking and walk-in queue app.

How consent is collected: End users opt in on a web form (also used in the ChairCheck mobile app) by entering their mobile number and actively checking an SMS consent checkbox that is unchecked by default. Consent is optional and is not a condition of signing up, booking, or any purchase. Users who do not check the box can still create an account and book, and they do not receive reminder or notification texts.

Live opt-in URLs:

The forms below are copies of the live forms, using the same fields, checkbox, and disclosure wording, so reviewers can check the opt-in experience without creating an account.

Opt-in path 1 — Barber / shop owner account sign-up

URL: https://getchaircheck.com/signup (public, no login or paywall)

  1. The user opens the sign-up page from the ChairCheck website or app.
  2. They enter their name, email, mobile phone number, and password.
  3. Directly below the phone field is an unchecked SMS consent checkbox containing the full disclosure (shown in the yellow dashed box).
  4. The user must actively check the box to opt in. The account can be created without checking it.
  5. When the box is checked, ChairCheck stores the consent (sms_consent = true) with a timestamp on the user's account.

Opt-in path 2 — Client sign-up while booking an appointment

URL: https://getchaircheck.com/book/<barber-id>. Every barber has a public booking link that they share with clients (for example in a social media bio, a text, or a QR code at the shop). No login or paywall is needed to view it.

  1. The client opens a barber's booking link and picks a service and time.
  2. On the "New Client" tab, they enter their name, email, mobile number, and password.
  3. Directly below the phone field is an unchecked SMS consent checkbox containing the full disclosure.
  4. The client must actively check the box to receive appointment reminder and booking update texts. Booking still works if they leave it unchecked.
  5. When the box is checked, consent is stored with a timestamp on the client's profile (client_profiles.sms_consent, sms_consent_at).

Path 3 — Client phone sign-in (one-time passcode only)

URL: https://getchaircheck.com/client-login

  1. An existing or new client enters their mobile number and taps "Text me a code" to sign in.
  2. This sends one one-time verification code to the number the user entered, only because the user asked for it.
  3. This step does not sign the user up for reminders or any other recurring messages. Recurring appointment and booking texts are only sent to users who checked the consent box in path 1 or path 2.
Sign in or sign up

By entering your number and tapping "Text me a code," you request a one-time verification code by text message (SMS) from ChairCheck at the number provided. This does not sign you up for other text messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. See our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.
